Remington Lee 1885 carbine
This carbine was produced by E. Remington and Sons between 1885 and 1887, also by the Remington Arms Company of Ilion from 1888 to 1895. Were built 10,000 of these rifles.
Only 26 of these carbines have a detachable cartridge-holder of the Lee type, later also be used for British Enfield firearms.
James Paris Lee born in 1831 and died in 1904. A Scotsman who emigrated to Canada, after his education he went to the USA, where he made his first magazine rifles on the American Navy. Several European arms companies showed interested.
