The antique mirrors

Antique mirrors one of the most wanted antiques. Some dealers say that these objects are more required than other antique furniture like chairs or even porcelain. The mirrors were being produced in a glass color murano and silvered in Venice in the 16 th century but were not made in England until a hundred years later. In 1625, in London the antique mirrors were first manufactured by a cylinder process. The limitations of this process meant that only small places could be made so it was not unusuall for several antique pieces of glass to be used to create one single mirror. During the latter half of th 18 th century and in the 19 th century, framing styles changed dramatically from the full blown carved glitwood confections of the Chippendale period to the heavier designs of the Regency and Victorian antique styles periods.
